These modes are apparently for future expansion. In the 1.04 firmware, only User Mode A appears to be functional.

Same functionality as pattern edit mode, but synced to MIDI in only (reportedly not with DIN Sync - check the [[http://www.ladyada.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=830|1.04 update]] thread for more info).
