chumbyhackerboard:ethernet
====== Dongly ====== The Chumby hacker board does not have Ethernet capability built in, but its very easy to add! We have found that ASIX AX88772 chipset modules work. Note that many dongles probably won't work - if you have one kicking around you can try it but don't be surprised when it is not recognized! <if you know of an adapter that does/doesn't work, you should post it here> ====== Plug in Ethernet ====== Get started by plugging in your USB-Ethernet adapter {{:chumbyhackerboard:etherplug.gif|}} You can run **ifconfig** to verify all is OK {{:chumbyhackerboard:ifconfigeth.gif|}} If you have DHCP running on your router, you can just run **dhclient eth0** to get going {{:chumbyhackerboard:dheth0.gif|}} If you don't have DHCP or you want to pick your own IP address, simply run **ifconfig** on **eth0** to set the ip address. Don't forget to set your default route as well! {{:chumbyhackerboard:ifconfigethip.gif|}}
